Design diehards will love the five individually decorated rooms in the B&B creation of Hotel de Russie architect Tommaso Ziffer. In contrast to its more sedate original location at 18 Via Capo le Case, rooms at this newer address are over-the-top; one is done up in black-and-white Op Art; another has clashing floral fabrics on everything, including the padded walls. But more than the bold striped wallpaper and color statements, it’s the little details—using dumpling baskets to hold soaps; breakfasts of homemade croissants and jams from the owner’s Tuscan farm—that give this property its personality. This is a smart (and popular) choice for any aesthetically inclined traveler, and a good deal more affordable than its fancier big sister. Book well ahead.
