The HouseBoat Grill
Half the fun of eating at The HouseBoat is the location: a floating restaurant that’s permanently moored (and softly rocking) at a pier overlooking the Montego Bay Marine Park. The blend of local and international cuisine is nothing fancy, but always good, and chef Richard Nurse frequently adds specials to the menu. His lightly grilled calamari—perfectly tender and served with a tomato concassée and brown butter sauce—is probably the island’s best. The roof doubles as a pub, a popular spot for the well-heeled diners to have a Cuban cigar after dinner.
Tip: Come at happy hour (5:30–7 p.m.) and grab a seat on “the Moondeck”—otherwise known as the roof—for half-price rum punches.
