SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

TRAVEL+LEISURE GOLF is published bimonthly and has a circulation of 600,000—including subscribers & newsstand buyers. Our readers are sophisticated and discriminating men and women who are passionate about golf.

If you'd like to pitch a story or make a photography portfolio submission to TRAVEL+LEISURE GOLF magazine, first review the guidelines below, then contact us as instructed.

Writers' Guidelines:
About 95 percent of the magazine is written by freelance writers on assignment. Every assignment is confirmed by a contract. We buy the first-time world rights, and request that the work not be published elsewhere until 90 days after it appears T+L GOLF. We pay upon acceptance of the article. Neither editors nor contributors may accept free travel.

How to Proceed:
1. Look at several issues of the magazine and become familiar with the types of articles published in the various sections.

2. Please do not telephone us about story proposals. Instead send a query letter that briefly outlines the ideas (no more than three at once) being proposed. Please enclose recent clips of your work and a SASE. Query letters can also be via e-mail. Click here to send an e-mail. In most cases, e-mail queries will receive the fastest responses.

3. It is rare that we will assign a feature article to a writer with whom we have not worked. The best sections to start with are departments in the front of the magazine.

If you mail your portfolio, include a stamped, self-addressed package for its safe return. Or you can send it by messenger Monday through Friday between 11 A.M. and 5 P.M. Please include a promo card in your portfolio with contact information, so we may get in touch with you if necessary.
